There is a Snake in Swans (Part 2)

Etching dark
the snake in swan,
a moth in mountainside
The Limberlost creatures
reform in marshy swamp,
cerulean sky or desert

Melaleuca like layers of paper
torn, broken
surfaces uneven
as
The Land in flux
and one merges
with another

In
The end
returning
like dominoes
we fall
to the pull of
gravity
and
 ‘Life’s
worn cycle
rebegins…..’

(with reference to Sylvia Plath ‘There is a snake in swans’  and W.H. Auden  from ‘The Letter’)
